Voting for the Finalist Round has ended. View the 2019 Animaltarian of the Year!

Why should this person or animal be a PetPartners Animaltarian of the Year?

Allison is an Operation Enduring Freedom veteran who has spent her life around horses. As Executive Director of Saratoga WarHorse, she knows first-hand the importance of equine-assisted therapy for veterans struggling with post-traumatic stress. The Saratoga WarHorse program partners off-the-track Thoroughbreds, often un-rideable at this point in their careers, with veterans who need help transitioning after their military service. The program is mutually beneficial: for the veterans who connect with their horses, and for the horses, to help get them to a place where they can be adopted.

If this person or animal was selected, what would they do with the $5,000?

One of Allison's goals for the coming years is to serve more women who have military sexual trauma, as such, she has piloted all-female classes. Winning $5,000 would give her the opportunity to grow this program, while simultaneously rehabbing horses with the goal of re-homing them.
