Why should this person or animal be a PetPartners Animaltarian of the Year?
Angie Young is an advocate for all animals without a voice! She volunteers for the Leflore County Humane Society, & tirelessly spends hours (and her own money) dedicated to the betterment of dogs and cats in our region of the Mississippi Delta. Angie fosters puppies and kittens at her home that require more care than the shelter can provide. She currently fosters 20 puppies/dogs, as well as 7 kittens. Her husband built an amazing "home" for the animals, including heated pads, heated bowls, plenty of hay and lots of room to run outside in their fenced area. Angie pioneered a connection between the local humane society and 2 rescues in the Northeast US that welcome these puppies to forever homes after a lengthy application and home visit process. Angie handles all social media and Rescue postings for the LCHS, and personally approves applications to ensure veterinary references & personal references for proper placement. No individual is more deserving of this award than Angie Young!!!
If this person or animal was selected, what would they do with the $5,000?
Angie can expand her works with Rescues outside of MS to find forever homes for these precious animals. She can also expand fundraising efforts via social media for heartworm Rx treatment, since this is not covered by our local humane society. Attached photos show just a glimpse of Angie's efforts!
