Why should this person or animal be a PetPartners Animaltarian of the Year?
Jeremy Harrell is a U.S. Army Combat Veteran of Iraqi Freedom. He served honorably for 9 years before getting out of the Army. About two years ago, Jeremy founded Veteran’s Club here in Kentucky. Presently, Veteran’s Club is a premier organization in Kentucky that has assisted over 1700 veterans in a multitude of ways such a his nationally recognized Equine Therapy Program, Career Transition for Vets needing employment, monthly family cookouts to get vets and families connected, and many more activities that knock down barriers for vets and help them heal from combat trauma. Veteran’s Club also works heavily in veteran’s outreach providing meals, job opportunities, and teaching leadership classes to homeless veterans in the state of Kentucky. Jeremy was also named this years Kentucky Veteran of the Year and was commissioned a Kentucky Colonel for the works he’s done for veterans in Kentucky. Jeremy was recently elected as Co-Chair for Veterans Community Alliance of Louisville (VCAL).
If this person or animal was selected, what would they do with the $5,000?
We would expand our equine program to multiple locations to be able to host more veterans each year. We’d like to purchase more gates for the round pen as well as a lot of breakthroughs happen during that phase of our session.
