Why should this person or animal be a PetPartners Animaltarian of the Year?
Dynamic duo family, Tracie Crawshaw (pilot) & Sheila Noles (driver), are two chief Bainbridge Humane Society supporters. From 2016-2019, they flew 21,929 miles and drove 41,261 miles transporting over 865 animals. Starting with a 4-passenger plane, they quickly upsized to move more animals. They also rented U-Haul vans and purchased an A/C trailer to accommodate even more. Finally, they purchased a cargo van for large transports and continue to fly animals with critical medical conditions. Often they bring 500-600 lbs of dog food to aid us. Not only does this pair help us but, they assist other shelters, rescues and organizations often at the drop of a hat; all at a personal cost of over $49,000. Tracie continues to introduce PilotsNPaws.org to new flight students and increased participants in our area over 400%. This family’s selfless devotion to those who cannot help themselves deserves recognition. Animals positively impacted by this pair is 10-fold over their direct impact number.
If this person or animal was selected, what would they do with the $5,000?
Many of the organizations that offer to take animals from the Bainbridge Humane Society require some vetting and vaccinations to be done, which can be a major cost to a small, underfunded open-admission shelter. Transportation costs can add up very quickly and $5,000 would help save so many lives!
