Why should this person or animal be a PetPartners Animaltarian of the Year?

Lauren Riehle just celebrated her 10 year anniversary as the Executive Director for Red Dog Farm Rescue! Red Dog Farm Animal Rescue Network is a North Carolina 501(c)(3) nonprofit corporation formed on August 23, 2006 to rescue and rehabilitate neglected, abused or otherwise unwanted animals in and around Guilford County, North Carolina with a particular focus on domestic farm animals. Thanks to Lauren’s dedication, compassion and perseverance to date the rescue has helped rehabilitate and rehome over 3,000 animals. No species gets left behind, they have now rescued over 58 different species from horses to hamsters, emus to hermit crabs, and of course dogs and cats. Since they do not have a shelter, at any given time Red Dog Farm has 80-100 foster animals all in private volunteer homes and farms.

If this person or animal was selected, what would they do with the $5,000?

Red Dog Farm takes in several neglected, or injured animals. The biggest expense they have is veterinary care. A single cat typically cost $300-$500 for medical expenses, while the adoption fee is only $75. If Lauren wins she will use to money to be able to pay for additional veterinary services.
