Howling Woods Farm

Why should this person or animal be a PetPartners Animaltarian of the Year?

I am the founder and current president of Howling Woods Farm. Our mission is to provide on-site learning experience to dispel currently held myths about wolves, to provide education and information to general public, governmental officials, and shelter operators for the ultimate benefit of wolves and wolfdogs, and to help with rescue and place abandoned or surrendered wolfdogs. We do not breed nor do we encourage it. Over the last 12 years thousands of visitors have come to our facility to interact with our animals and listen to a presentation about wolves, have provided interactive presentations to over 300 schools, libraries, scout meetings and senior centers and provided over 500 off-site events with our animals. In addition, we have rescued and rehomed over 200 wolfdogs and northern breed animals labeled as wolfdogs. These animals came to us from animal shelters, owner surrenders, the ASPCA, Humane Society of the United States and other animal welfare organization.

If this person or animal was selected, what would they do with the $5,000?

All funds would go directly to Howling Woods Farm, a 501(c)(3) public charity. These funds would be used for rescue and rehoming of wolfdogs, including but not limited to veterinary service, care and maintenance, transport, education, and presentations.
